Joy Dyrsten of Green Pond, NJ passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at the age of 80.

The oldest of 5 children, Joy was born to James and Madelaine Edson on April 1st. She loathed her birthday because she was always teased about being born on April Fool's Day.

As much as she hated her birthday, she loved celebrating other people. She cooked, sewed and baked for family, friends, and neighbors. Not a birthday, anniversary or momentous occasion would pass by without a special card in beautiful penmanship and a thoughtful gift. She always went above and beyond with acts of kindness to everyone she knew.

Known as Marmie by many, Joy had an infectious laugh, beautiful blue eyes, and an amazing smile. She was a loyal and generous mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She left her hot pink lip marks on many a forehead and will be missed by all who knew her.

A private service will be held by the family.
