Obituary of Anne Sincaglia

Please share a memory of Anne to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Anne (Annie) Sincaglia, 71, of Wayne, New Jersey, passed away on March 31, 2023.  Annie was born on February 7, 1952 to Alfred and Lillian Wurf in Buffalo, NY. Annie is survived by her husband James, son Michael, steps sons, daughter-in laws, and grandchildren.

Annie graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a degree in Sociology in 1975.  Her life’s work was dedicated to advocacy and staunchly defending the most vulnerable.  She began her career protecting children through investigative works at DYFS and Child Protective Services. Years later, she pursued a remarkable career at the New Jersey Division of Civil Rights as lead investigator, where she met her husband James Sincaglia. The two married on May 9, 1986.

Motherhood soon followed and allowed her to love, be loved, and to have a family of her own. Annie and James gave birth to their son, Michael Jesse Sincaglia in April of 1987. Together they taught their son integrity, respect and compassion.

After many years of motherhood, she returned working as a social work case manager at Select Speciality Hospital before retiring in 2018.

Most everyone knew her unwavering love and advocacy for animals, a continuation of her compassion to those without a voice. She often donated to the Eleventh Hour Rescue an organization which shared her values.

If you knew her, you loved her. We will miss her greatly and forever remember her fierce spirit and love.It is Annie’s request that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to Eleventh Hour Rescue .

Visiting will be on Sunday at Keri Memorial Funeral Home, 125 Main Street, Lincoln Park, NJ from 9:30am-11:30 am.  A graveside service will follow on Sunday at Garden of Memories, 300 Soldier Hill Road, Township of Washington, NJ at 12:30 pm.
