My father's "little" brother. My father loved him dearly. So did I. He gave me the first (and maybe only) nice fishing rod I ever had, one of his own - it seems small, but I have thought of it many many times during my life. My father would tell me stories about him and I thought, "That's who I hope to be." Strong, kind, big, funny, full of life. I grew to be exactly the same height as my father, but Steve was an inch taller. It always felt like a very big inch.
I miss him. I mean I really miss him.
