Obituary of Robert George McLain

Robert G. McLain age 65 of Lincoln Park passed May 13th. Born in Paterson he's resided in Lincoln Pk. 28 yrs., Bob earned his Bachelors Degree at Wm. Paterson (1976) and Masters at New Jersey City Univ. (1989) . He taught Instrumental Music at Kinnelon H.S. and coached baseball & football. He was an active  3rd Degree member of St. Josephs K of C for 28 yrs. Visitation is Wed., May 17th from 3 to 8pm at Keri Memorial Home , Mass at St. Joseph's 10:30am Thurs. May 18th. Surviving are his wife Bonnie-Ann , daughter Katie MacKenzie and husband Tim , mother  Elizabeth McLain , brothers John and Edward , sisters Kathrine Pursley , Mary Kuepfer and Leona Palumbo. "Bobby's life was an incredible blessing that shined through everyone he encountered. He began his musical journey carrying his trombone two miles up hill in both directions through the snow, and shared his father's love of music. He met his sweetheart , Bonnie , in 7th grade homeroom because their last names both began with "M". Bobby was always a child at heart, wanting to drive any heavy machinery at hand, from dump trucks, to submarines to school buses. His wardrobe consistantly included every tone of Cabella's khaki, and all shades of Jet's green or Yankee pin stripes. His happy place was captaining his RV, parading his 1950's Willys "Jr.", or taking some "down time" on Martha's Vineyard. Bobby developed innumerable lasting relationships and friendships with his students , friends , colleagues and church buddies.
