Obituary of George H. Dieterle
George Henry Dieterle, 71, of Vernon Twp., NJ, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2019, with his family and friends at his side. George is survived by his children: Tracey Fredericks and husband Chris, Sean Dieterle and wife Lani, brothers: Alan Dieterle and wife Martha, Wayne Dieterle and wife Joyce, and four grandchildren: Josie, Kayla, Max, and Ashley, and his companion: Madeline Carroll. In addition, he is survived by a close group of friends that shared his interest in classic cars and were extremely supportive as he fought cancer. George was born at Mountainside Hospital in Glen Ridge, NJ to the late George Fred Dieterle and D. Evelyn Dieterle (née Ivin) on November 19, 1947. George lived most of his life in New Jersey settling in Vernon in 1984. He enjoyed traveling, spending time with friends and family, auto racing, and classic car restoration, especially Corvettes. He was a Master Judge in the National Corvette Restorers Society and achieved national recognition for his Corvette restorations including multiple “Top Flight” awards. George was a graduate of the Governor Livingston High School in Berkeley Heights, NJ and of Farleigh Dickinson University in Madison NJ. He was retired but over his career worked as a machinist to support himself in college, at Wagner Brake and Lighting Products in Parsippany, NJ, for over 20 years, at technology company MYOB, Inc in Rockaway NJ for 10 years, and finally at SAIC / BAE Systems at Picatinny Arsenal. A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, March 30th, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Keri Memorial Funeral Home, 125 Main Street, Lincoln Park, NJ. In lieu of flowers and in recognition of the enormous support that he received as he battled cancer George had asked that donations be made to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. https://giving.mskcc.org/
