Obituary of Dennis S. Drenswick
Dennis Scott Drenswick, a cherished member of the Ringwood, New Jersey community, passed away on December 18, 2024, at the age of 61. Born on June 8, 1963, in Paterson, New Jersey and raised by his loving parents in Newfoundland, New Jersey, Dennis lived a life marked by deep personal connections and unwavering dedication to his family and community.
Dennis possessed an undeniable charisma that drew people to him. His smile, coupled with his bright blue eyes, had a remarkable ability to light up any room he entered. Known for his kind spirit and approachable nature, Dennis had a rare gift for mentorship; he patiently guided many with wisdom and respect, making those around him feel appreciated and understood. This nurturing spirit extended to every interaction, whether it was professional endeavors or personal relationships. He was an avid photographer and lover of all things related to aviation. An expert mechanic who was frequently found in his garage or under a car, making things just right. He enjoyed his Shelby Mustang amongst many other cars in his lifetime and the exhilarating speed they provided. Dennis frequently found solace when spending time at the property in upstate NY. A small, unassuming cabin held a lifetime of memories of family time, hunting and connecting fully with nature.
A pillar of the community, Dennis dedicated countless hours to volunteering at the Sussex and Geneseo air show, sharing his passion for aviation and community service. In both his professional career and home life, Dennis was renowned for his meticulous approach and dedication to doing things right, qualities that earned him admiration and respect from colleagues and friends alike. Dennis worked in a variety of industries that were all mechanical in nature. For the past 10 years he was a service advisor at Schumacher Chevrolet in Denville NJ
At the heart of Dennis's life was his family. He leaves behind his loving wife, Lori Drenswick, who was his partner in all things. As a stepfather to Violet Mae and Nicholas Grindle, Dennis embraced his role with open arms, committing himself wholeheartedly to their upbringing. Dennis was deeply connected to his nieces and nephews and seven grand nieces and nephews. To Dennis, family extended beyond just people; his beloved dogs were a significant part of his life and brought him great joy.
Predeceased by his first wife, Michele Burlew, his father, Donald C. Drenswick, his mother, Mary T. Drenswick, and his brother, Lawrence J. Drenswick, Dennis's legacy is one of love, laughter, and lessons taught.
His memory lives on in the hearts of his family and friends who were privileged to know him.
A service to honor Dennis's life will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2024,at 7:30 PM with visiting from 4-8 PM at Keri Lozito Funeral Home, located at 125 Main St, Lincoln Park, NJ 07035. Family and friends are invited to gather as we celebrate and remember the life of this extraordinary individual. Dennis's presence will be dearly missed, but his spirit and the memories created in his lifetime will continue to guide and inspire us all.
In remembrance of Dennis’s life, the family asks that any charitable donations be made to the John Theurer Cancer Center in his name.
