Obituary of Juanita Payne

Please share a memory of Juanita to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of Juanita Payne on October 4th, 2024.  Juanita is survived by her beloved husband, David Payne; her three children, Giesel Ussery, Erik Laracuente and Fidel Laracuente, III; their spouses Roger, Jennifer and Alison; her two stepdaughters Jenna and Bethany Payne; her six grandchildren Isaiah, Elijah, Alexandria, Luke, Maddox and McKenzie and her siblings Eloina, Miguel, Edelmiro and Ramon.  She was predeceased by her parents, Juan and Carmen and dear sister, Carmen Maria.

Juanita was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico and moved to Newark, NJ , then resided in Lincoln Park for the past 30 years.  Juanita was very kind, caring, loving and generous to all.  She was a Director of Admissions at a Hamilton Plaza Nursing Home in Passaic, NJ for over 20 years. During her career, she was proud to have mentored many individuals during their career path.  She retired 8 years ago and enjoyed her retirement years with her family and friends.  Juanita loved gardening, taking photos and traveling, especially to Puerto Rico to visit her family.

Juanita held many titles, wife, mother, stepmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend- and one of her greatest joys was the title of grandmother.  Juanita left her family with a lifetime of memories that they will cherish for the rest of their lives.

Funeral Mass on Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at St. Joseph's R. C. Church, 216 Comly Road, Lincoln Park, NJ at 10 AM.  Please meet at church.  Visiting at Keri- Lozito Funeral Home, 125 Main Street, Lincoln Park, NJ on Monday, October 7, 2024 from 3-5 PM and 7-9 PM.
