Obituary of David Alfred Haessig, Sr.

David Alfred Haessig, Sr., 93, of Towaco, NJ passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, surrounded by his family.  He was born and grew up in Westfield, NJ, went to Westfield High School and earned a BA in Business from Upsala College. He was self-employed and the owner of Plains Printers with his two sons for a period of 40 years.  He loved music and playing piano, particularly at parties with everyone singing along.  He, his wife and friends loved to ride motorcycles together and he taught his sons to ride when they were young.   They continued to ride together throughout their lives.   He served in the National Guard, he loved antique cars, woodworking and camping.  The most important thing in Dave’s life was his family. Beloved husband of the late Carolyn Haessig (nee Vreeland).  Devoted father of David A. Haessig, Jr. and his wife Kathleen, James Haessig and his wife Beth, and Thomas Haessig and his wife Dawn.  Dear brother of the late Betty Smith.  Loving grandfather of Ryan, Meagan, Daniel, Peter, Thomas and Stephanie. Cherished great-grandfather of Jack and Elise. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, August 25, 2024, from 4-7 PM at Keri-Lozito Funeral Home, 125 Main Street, Lincoln Park, NJ.   The funeral service will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024, at 10 AM at Keri-Lozito Funeral Home, followed by interment at Montville Reformed Church.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Book and Bargain Barn in Denville, NJ.
