Obituary of Terah L. Jones

Please share a memory of Terah to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

In Loving Memory of Terah Leopard Jones

Terah Leopard Jones was born on April 7, 1938, in Saint Elizabeth, Jamaica, to Andrew and Linette Jones.

He was the tenth of fourteen children, the youngest of the sons in a family rich with love and warmth. Terah's early years were spent in the close-knit community of Saint Elizabeth, where he attended the Bethlehem public school. He learned the values of hard work and dedication early on, helping his parents on the family farm by tending to the animals and working in the fields.

In 1974, Terah made the courageous decision to migrate to the United States in search of better opportunities. He worked as a factory worker, a job he performed with diligence and pride.

Despite the demands of his work, Terah found joy in the simple pleasures of life-taking long walks, sharing laughter, and spending time with his beloved family.

Terah was a man of immense kindness and a joyful spirit. His infectious laughter and friendly demeanor endeared him to all who knew him. His heart was full of love, and he cherished his

family deeply. One of the most profound heartbreaks in his life was the loss of his only child, Janet

Jones, in 2020, a sorrow that weighed heavily on his heart.

Though he faced many challenges, Terah's resilience and strength were unwavering. He is survived by his cherished granddaughter, Kaphania, who continues his legacy. He also leaves behind his brother Joseph, and sisters Gelmena, Daphne, and Delsie. Terah's memory will live on in the hearts of his many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends who were fortunate enough to know him.

As we gather to remember Terah, let us celebrate a life well-lived, filled with love, laughter, and the simple joys that make life beautiful. May his soul rest in eternal peace.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Keri-Lozito Funeral Home, 125 Main Street, Lincoln Park, NJ from 10-11 am.
