Obituary of Stanley B. Smith
On Sunday, July 14th, 2024, Stanley Blauvelt Smith passed away at home at the age of 85. Stan was born February 18, 1939 in Montclair, NJ to parents, Charles S. Smith and Beulah (McCullough) Smith and joined brother Clifford.
Stan grew up in Lincoln Park, NJ. He was a Boy Scout and proudly earned the highest rank of Eagle Scout. He attended Boonton High School where he was a member of the Varsity Baseball team. After graduation in 1956, Stan joined the United States Air Force and served his enlistment in Cheyenne, WY as a plumber and member of the base softball team. Stan spent his working career as a Union Plumber followed by Director of Parks and Recreation for the Borough of Lincoln Park. His interests included Civil War History, his love of dogs, watching his grandchildren play sports and activies, the Detroit Lions and the Baltimore Orioles.
Stan is survived by his wife, Annette Maida-Smith, Wayne, NJ and puppy Chloe; his children Daniel Smith & Kristen, Pompton Plains, NJ; Jill Russo & Dave, Wanaque, NJ; Becky Myers & Robert, Suffern, NY; Janine Buchar & Rudy; Half Moon, NY; his Step-Children Dennis Maida & Patricia, Lincoln Park, NJ; Jonathan Maida & Kimberly, Goodyear, AZ; Nicole Maida, Wayne, NJ; his Grand-Children, Teagan, Owen & Daniel Smith, Emily Rodgers (Andrew) & Brooke Russo, Claire & Charles Myers, Meghan & Anna Maida, Joseph Rivera & Mackenzie Bosland; and his Great-Grandchildren, Riley & Olivia Rodgers.
Viewing will be held at Keri-Lozito Funeral Home, 125 Main St., Lincoln Park, NJ 07035 on Wednesday, July 17th, 2024, 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Repass will immediately follow next door at the American Legion.
