Dear Arnold and girls,
I was so sorry to hear of Diane’s passing. I have so many wonderful and fond memories of Diane. I always looked up her growing up. Especially with Diane being the first Mania grandchild and me being the last Mania grandchild. She will always have a special place in my heart. She helped me through when my dad passed. She was there for me when I needed comfort and guidance. She was a very special, kind, loving and beautiful person inside and out. I will keep all of you in my prayers for comfort and guidance through this difficult time. Many of Gods blessings always.
Love,
Leona Mania Hlubik

I will always remember the many happy times my cousin Diane and I had when we were very young. A memory that comes to mind is when I had no classes at my school and thought I would be playing with my cousins Diane and Billy but ended up going to school anyhow with Diane attending her classes. That same day she played the piano so nicely for one of the programs in the auditorium. Diane was so sweet and quite smart, many times classmates called her to get help with homework. I’m sure this is one of the reasons she became a teacher.
I went many Saturdays to her piano lessons. I also went to her dance recitals. She danced many routines, ballroom, jazz and tap as I recall and looked so pretty in the beautiful costumes.
I remember trips with Diane and Billy downtown. We would take two buses to get there. Her Mom would give each of us $2.00 and the three of us would be so happy to buy something for ourselves. We were very young then not into our teens but no fear in those times going alone to shop.
Going to Grandma Mania’s was always a treat and so was going to the ice cream shop to get a cone. We would always ask to have jimmies (sprinkles) on top.
Also many memories of us three sitting on the porch entertaining ourselves reading comic books.
One of my favorite memories was our family gatherings every Thanksgiving at my Mom and Dads and the laughs we had.
Diane and I were very close and when I got married she was my Maid of Honor.
These are just a few of the many memories I have that will forever remain in my heart.
Diane, I will miss you terribly but knowing you are with loved ones passed comforts.
I love you.
