While I only had the privilege of knowing Tim for a short time during our most recent graduate course, his kindness, sense of humor and enthusiasm were evident in every activity and conversation we shared. I know my words will never fill the space his absence has created in your lives, I hope the many happy memories you have of him will quickly fill your hearts with peace.
With sympathy,
Michelle

Tim, I would like to thank you for being a super awesome teacher during my middle school years at Chapel Hill. You were always so helpful whenever I was struggling and it was always a pleasure talking to you. You're truly one of the teachers I have the most respect for. It's such a shame you had to go so soon. Thank you for marking a positive impact into my life and for others. Fly High Tim.

To all of Tim's family, friends, loved ones - I am so sorry for this significant and heartbreaking loss. I met Tim while he was a student in the Educational Leadership program at Montclair State University and while I didn't get a chance to know him very well, I had a few great interactions with him and could tell how important education was to him. It was clear that he would be an incredible, transformative school leader. I'm sending you all my love during this difficult time.

My sincere condolences to Cory and Cameron on Tim's passing. I got to know Tim while he was my student at Montclair State University. I was very impressed and touched by his gentle soul and caring heart. He was an outstanding person and the love of his family was very evident to me from the first time I met him. He was a leader that I knew had a very bright future in school administration. He was gone too soon. Tim was always very eager to learn and grow, and very reflective. He had a heart of gold. I remember hearing him tell me how he met the love of his life Cory and his joy and adoration of Cameron. Tim was the last student I spoke with in my class last semester in December and I am heartbroken that I will never get to speak with him again. I admired his grit, his positive spirit, and resiliency even as he battled illness. Tim, you touched so many people even in ways you likely didn't realize. We miss you. We send prayers and blessings and comfort to Cory and Cameron and all his family.

Tim, He has been my favorite teacher out of everyone in Chapel Hill, I will never forget the time when he introduced The Outsiders to the class I was in, I loved it when he would read to us, and the time he baked brownies for me on my birthday. I'll never forget what great things he has done for me, and I owe him my gratitude for that. Stay gold, Tim.

I send my sincerest condolences to your family. The impact you made on Nathan Cassian life will always be remembered! He admired you and enjoyed your class so much. I remember when when he told me about the pool noodle and I immediately went and brought some. Then when I met you, you were so welcoming and had an aura unmatched! Thank you for lighting a fire in Nathan he didn’t see himself. I promise to keep it lit. Since meeting you he has found a true passion for history and wanting to know all about how we got to current events. You will truly be missed. #TyeDyeForTim will be a national holiday in our family! Your passion for teaching shows in every little mind you have touched! Irreplaceable, Passionate, Admirable, Caring, Realist, Loving, and an inspiration to those following in your steps! Thank you for being you and fighting for everything you love! My heart and prayers go to your family they have a gem in their lives that will forever shine!

Tim, For days I’ve been trying to find the words to thank you for being such a presence in my sons lives. Especially Nick! He was by your house more than ours. I’m heartbroken and sad. So are my sons. Especially Nick.
I hope you realized what an impact you made on so many.
You are out of pain and with our Savior Jesus. See you eventually.

" One of the best feelings in the world is knowing that your presence and absence both mean something to someone. "
This is a perfect quote to describe Tim. As his mentor when he came to the Buckley School, I was most fortunate to witness his easy, supportive interactions with the boys. He instinctively knew how to encourage and guide a student regardless the child's interest or ability. Not only was he intuitively acute, but his passion for sports also captivated the little boys who loved this "gentle giant" of a man.
Beyond the educational realm, my prayers extend to his wife and son. May God be with them as they move through life with the memories they shared. May those memories be vivid and remind them of the love Tim had for both of them.
With deep sympathy for a man who is gone much too soon.

Tim,
Thank you for being the person that you were. Your love for helping others, kindness, caring, and humility are just a few of the MANY reasons why you’re loved by so many. I’ll never understand why you were taken so soon, but I guess someone had other plans for you, and needed you more. Thank you for all that you did for my son, and the hundreds of other lives that you have touched. You will never be forgotten, and will live on for eternity through us all. We all will love you forever. Heaven gained such an amazing person. Until we meet again…

The Gerry family extends our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Tim Walker. Both of my sons, Finn and Balin, were fortunate enough to have him as a teacher and mentor at Buckley.
He was an extremely talented and kind human who will always hold a very special place in our hearts and our memories.
I took the following photo on Balin’s first day of Beginners. We will cherish it always.

I would like to preface this message with a thank you. Tim I would not be in the position that I’m in without you and for all that you have done for me and for that I am grateful. I think i say this for the many students you’ve had over the years you were more than a teacher you were a friend. You have made life easier in the roughest times. Tim from what I saw was a great all around person that you really can’t replace. He had a personality that would brighten your day. Tim I’m sorry you had to go so soon. Cory and Cameron you have my deepest condolences.

Tim was my son Yan’s most favorite teacher. On the very first day of 7th grade, my son said, “Our teacher is so nice, and he knows his history!” Tim made his lessons interesting and fun. He made a great impact on Yan’s school life!
When I met Tim on Back-to-school night, he told parents “I never sit when I teach a class. I must be the most interesting object in the class, otherwise, I will lose their attention.” And he was one of the best teachers my son had. Tim had this very positive energy, and a very strong spirit … Not many people have it.
We all are very sorry to see him go so young… So unfair… Our deepest condolences to the family. We will miss you Tim…

Tim's massive frame, athletic prowess, and wild hair hid one of the kindest people. If you were lucky enough to know him you knew he would welcome you with a hug. If we all be had a little more Tim in us then the world would be a better place. As a stranger in a foreign place (Southern boy to Yankee country) Tim welcomed me into his Jersey family and made me feel at home when I needed it most my first couple years at Columbia. That friendship would grow through college, raising "Snuggles" dorm suite pet lizard Trogdor, playing rugby, and adventuring in the wilderness. I'll cherish those memories and wish we could of made many more.

When I moved to Lincoln Park in 1997, Tim was one the few real and welcoming people. He was a big guy even then. He used to allow me to "beat him up" but more I was like a mosquito to an elephant. Later in highschool, he joined the football team and I remember he maxed out the leg press in front of the head coach and was our only real threat on the freshmen team.
One of my last memories of him was at the Shop Rite parking lot years ago just in passing. He must've just had shoulder surgery he gained a little weight. I said hey man you're looking good he shot me down said, "No I'm fat. Don't need need to sugar code it."
Cut to a year from that point, I saw him bouncing at the hopper in rugby shape. lol. Talk about will power.
Although the years have gone, I find that all the people that l have left an impression are burned in my memory and sadly all those people seem to be leaving too soon. But I know he's not alone because there are already welcoming arms to embrace his arrival. Condolences from The Gencarelli Family

Tim; warrior-poet, student-athlete, fun-loving giant. They say a man dies twice; once when his body dies, and again when the last person utters his name. You'll live on forever in the hearts and memories of your friends and family. Rest in peace, friend. Thank you for the childhood memories and the teenage laughs. "Never show weakness"
