Obituary of Sonya Mathea Murch
Sonya Murch, 91, of Lincoln Park, New Jersey passed away on May 19, 2023. She passed away in the home of her daughter and son-in-law in Montana.
She was born in Manhatten, NY. Her family settled in Lincoln Park, NJ. She graduated from Boonton High School. She married Ken Murch and settled in Sayreville, NJ where she raised her family. She survived the tragic loss of her husband, father, and two young children. She went on to graduate with a bachelors degree from Rutgers University. She traveled to Israel for two months, which was a highlight of her life. She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints since an early age. She worked as an administrative assistant. She worked with AARP helping others with taxes for 19 years. As a hobby she was gifted with a talent for decorating cakes, making wedding and birthday cakes for many. She enjoyed traveling, bluegrass/gospel music, bluegrass festivals, camping, reading, and genealogy. She had many friends that she enjoyed talking with by phone and letters.
Sonya is predeceased by her parents Elsa and Carl Krondahl, her sister Anita Krondahl, Her brother Rudy Krondahl. Husband Ken Murch. Sons Jeffrey and Stephen Murch. She is survived by her son Kenneth Murch, daughter Sheila Kraszewski, as well as her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchild.
There will be a celebration of life at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints at 209 Mountain Ave, Caldwell, NJ on May 31, 2023. Viewing at 9:30 am followed by a service at 10am. Interment to follow at Shoreland Memorial Gardens Hazlet, NJ at 12:30
