Obituary of Herbert J. Vaillancourt

Herbert “Jack” Vaillancourt 91, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 5,2023 at the New Jersey Fireman’s Home in Boonton NJ.    Born and raised in Lincoln Park to Herbert and Elizabeth Vaillancourt.    He married Lillian (Aug) Vaillancourt on July 6, 1952.  

After graduating from high school, Jack started working at Lincoln Park Motors as an Auto Mechanic.  He served in the Air Force from 1952 to 1956 as Staff Sergeant and a member of American Legon Post 279.  He became a Lincoln Park Volunteer Fireman and proudly served his community for 44 years.   He was Chief from 1961 to 1965. 

Jack enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as camping with his family and friends.  He was a lifelong Yankees and Giants fan.   After retiring from Burack Chevrolet as Service Manager in 1993, Jack & Lillian moved to their new home in the Adirondacks.   He was very active in his retirement while serving as a Member of the Town of Day Planning Board, Chairman of Town Cemetery Committee, Town of Day Deputy Historian, Member and Treasurer  of Town Historical Society, Member of Fish House Fish and Game Club, Member of the Saratoga County Council of Fish and Game Club, Saratoga County Representative to the Adirondack Conservation Council, Saratoga County Landowner Representative to Region 5 Fish and Wildlife Management Board and Saratoga Representative to Sacandaga Advisor Board. 

He is survived by his sons David and his wife Maureen of Hamilton Township, PA, Fred and his wife Sue of Las Vegas, NV and daughter Jacklynn of Denville, NJ and his daughter in law Carol Vaillancourt of Day, NY.

Jack was blessed with grandchildren, Tara and husband Jason, David and wife Alyssa, Tori and husband Bill, Corey, Chelsea and great grandchildren, Jason, Brennan, Alianna, Abigail, Billy and Dante.

He was predeceased by his beloved wife Lillian, son Mark Vaillancourt of Day, NY and granddaughter Ashley Feury of Denville, NJ.  His parents, Herbert and Elizabeth Vaillancourt of Lincoln Park, NJ, sister Jessie Neff (Fischer) of Cornwall, PA and brother Eugene Fischer of Lincoln Park, NJ. 

Funeral Service at Keri Memorial Funeral Home, 125 Main Street, Lincoln Park, NJ on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at 10 AM.  Interment, Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson, NJ.  Visitation on Monday, April 10, 2023 from 4-8 PM.
