Michael Joseph Walsh Obituary

Michael Joseph Walsh,78, of Montville, NJ passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, April 5, 2023. Michael was born to Vincent Aloysius Walsh and Elizabeth (Newton) Walsh on November 25, 1944, and grew up in Essex Fells, NJ. He married his high school sweetheart Georgianna (Perry) Walsh in 1966. Mike and "George" moved to Montville where they raised their three daughters.

Mike was a proud member of Local 825 (International Union of Operating Engineers) for over 50 years. He was an outdoorsman, hunter, softball player and a terrific mechanic. All friends knew just to pull up to the garage if they needed a repair or oil change. He was most well-known to his friends as the host of the "he-man woman haters club." He never missed his daily crossword puzzle and was a walking encyclopedia filled with volumes of useless information. He spent much of his retirement years restoring old tractors and taking meticulous care of his lawn.

Beloved husband of Georgiana Walsh. Devoted father of Kelly and her husband Patrick, Michele and her husband Scott and Colleen and her husband Jeff. Loving grandfather of Shannon, Sean, Ashley, Samantha, Mackenzie, Riley, Christopher and Abby. Dear brother of Patricia Newman. Cherished uncle of Shannon and Kerry. He is also survived by his best friend Gus.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 5-8 PM at Keri Memorial Funeral Home, 125 Main Street from 5-8 PM. All other services are private. Memorial gifts to Cooper Barnabas Medical Center, Kidney Transplant Department would be appreciated.
