Obituary of Robert A. Shahpazian

Robert A. Shahpazian, 90, of Lincoln Park, N.J. passed on Feb. 7, 2023. Born June 7, 1932, in Jersey City, to Rose Marella and George H. Shahpazian, Bob settled in Lincoln Park in 1967.
Bob served in the Navy during the Korean War. He contributed to the evaluation of the first Canted Deck Aircraft Carrier in Naval history, USS Antietam CVA-36 and also served on the USS Coral Sea as an Aviation ordnanceman.
Bob went on to marry the love of his life, Mary (Marge) Moran of 60 years. Bob is a graduate of NYU and Clarkson University. His Engineering career began at Western Electric in Kearny and continued through various “Bell” system companies, until his retirement after 30 years with AT&T. Over the years, Bob also worked as an instructor at Fairleigh Dickinson University and after retiring at AT&T, he taught at St. Phillips, Clifton.
Bob enjoyed playing the piano, sports and was on many bowling leagues. He was an avid cook and shopper. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends to many places around the world. His biggest devotion was to his family.
Bob is survived by his loving family: children, Charlotte McClain, Margaret Greer, Donna Shahpazian, George Shahpazian and Robert Shahpazian, Jr.; Grandchildren, Darryl Shahpazian and wife Michelle, Robert Greer, Jessica Vanderputten, Andrew Wallace and wife Jane and Amanda Vanderputten; great grandchildren Caden and Aubrey Shahpazian; sister Diana Shahpazian, sister-in law’s Margaret Goley and Marie Shahpazian; brother-in-law, James Moran and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Moran (2016); daughter-in law Gail DeDreu Shahpazian (2020); brother, Richard Shahpazian (1992).
Visitation is at Keri Memorial Home, 125 Main St., Lincoln Park, N.J. on Monday, February 13th from 3:30 to 7:30pm. Family and Friends will gather Tuesday, February 14th at the Funeral Home for 10:00am prayers, prior to interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington, N.J.
