Obituary of Richard J. Monaco
Richard J. Monaco, 72, of Lincoln Park, NJ, passed away surrounded by his wife and five children on Sunday, January 1, 2023. He was born in Paterson, raised and went to school in Lincoln Park. He moved to Sparta for 17 years before settling back home to Lincoln Park in 1993. He served in the United States Army from 1970-1972 and was a member of American Legion Post 279 in Lincoln Park. He worked most of his life in Injection Molding manufacturing. Most recently, he worked for the Lincoln Park DPW for 8 years until 2020. He was known throughout the town as a great conversationalist and a friend to all. Rich had a strong love of the horses at the Meadowlands Racetrack and spent a lot of time there. He was also a faithful, lifelong Jets fan.
Son of the late Andrew Monaco and Elsie Monaco (nee Wintjen). He is the beloved husband of Carmen. Dear father of Jessica Monaco-Copell and her husband Jimmy, Jennifer Banta and her husband Chris, Richard A. Monaco and his partner Lauren Hayslip, Joseph Monaco, and Joanna Monaco. Dear brother of Kurt Monaco, Florence Faulhaber, and the late Larry Skelly, Andrew Monaco, and Mary Ellen Saltis. Brother-in-law of Nancy Monaco. Fun and loving grandfather of CJ, Mila, and Ella Banta, James and Amelia Copell, and Emma Monaco.
Visiting will be at the Keri Memorial Funeral Home, 125 Main Street, Lincoln Park on Thursday, January 5th from 4-8PM. There will be a family eulogy starting at 6:30 PM.
Cremation is private.
