Obituary of Raymond Benson

Raymond Benson, 85, of Hanover, VA, formerly of Fairfield, NJ passed away on Thursday, December 29, 2022.  He was born in Fairfield, NJ and proudly lived there most of his life before moving to Hanover in 2018.  He was a Principal Public Works Repairman for the Township of Fairfield, Department of Public Works for over 24 years and retired in 2003.  He was a 60-year member of the Fairfield Volunteer Fire Department.  He served in the United States Army. Devoted father of Marie Hudes (husband Mike), Deanna Benson, and Jeff Benson.  Loving son of the late Horace and Eleanor Benson and brother of the late Evelyn Benson Campanaro, Edward Benson and Roxanne Benson. Dear brother to Lorraine Scott, Art and Linda Benson and Norman Benson. Cherished grandfather of Chase and Ava Hudes and Max and Zoe Benson.  He is also survived by many dear friends, nieces and nephews, including Vicky Dixon and Susan Hankinson.  Visiting will be on Wednesday, January 4, 2023 at Keri Memorial Funeral Home, 125 Main Street, Lincoln Park, NJ from 10 am-12 noon with a Fireman's Service to follow.  Interment, Hillside Cemetery, Fairfield, NJ.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Fairfield Fire Department.
