Obituary of Mary Majewski

Mary (Czubkowski) Majewski, 90, came to rest peacefully on September 6, 2021. She was born November 16, 1931 in Eastern Poland. She was just 8 years old when Poland was invaded forcing her and her family to abandon their small farm and flee to Germany. When the war ended an opportunity arose for Mary to immigrate to the United States. She arrived on the shores of the US through Ellis Island; just like so many others who came to the free world. She settled in Garfield, NJ and began life in this new land working as a seamstress. In 1952 Mary met Matthew Majewski, and on September 25th 1952 they were married. Together they settled on their dairy farm in Jordanville, NY where they had two sons, Peter and John.

Upon retirement the family farm was sold and Mary and Matthew bought a home in Cooperstown, NY. There they loved to go on picnics with their family at Glimmerglass State Park on Otsego Lake. In her final years Mary lived with her son Peter in Lincoln Park, NJ where she got to spend time with her beloved grandchildren, Amanda, Josh, and Matt.

Mary passed peacefully at home. She was a devout Christian and held firm to her faith in God to her final days. She will now enjoy eternity in heaven with family and loved ones that have gone before her and in the presence of her Lord and Savior.

Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband Matthew (2016) and her brother Rev Anthony Czubkowski (2019).

She is survived by her older sister Helena (Buhaj), two Sons, Peter and John and her 4 grandchildren; Amanda, Joshua, Matthew, and Emily.

Funeral Service 7 PM on Friday September 9, 2022 at Keri Memorial Funeral Home, 125 Main Street, Lincoln Park, NJ. Visiting from 6-8 PM
