Obituary of Henry Finelli

Please share a memory of Henry to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Henry Finelli, age 82 of Lincoln Park, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 22, 2022, following a short illness, while vacationing in Aruba.

Hank was born on February 23, 1939 in Woonsocket, Rhode Island to Henry and Antoinette. He was the youngest of five children.

When he was in junior high, his parents re-Iocated to Florida. Hank graduated from Miami High in 1957. After high school, he attended Embry Riddle Aeronautical University to pursue his life long ambition of becoming a pilot. His dream was realized, when he was hired with Eastern Airlines October 8, 1962. He enjoyed every minute of his 24 year career with Eastern, culminating it as a senior check captain. Shortly before Eastern's demise, he purchased Meadows Golf Club in Lincoln Park, which he owned and operated for 32 years, before selling it in 2018 to have a lung transplant. His recovery from the transplant was miraculous and he enjoyed 3 1/2 more years of quality life pursuing his favorite hobbies. Hank lived life to the fullest. He was blessed with the ability to take two of his passions, flying and golf, and turn them into two very lucrative careers. He was truly larger than life!

All through his life, Hank was a devout Christian. He spent an hour each day praying for his loved ones. So when he said "I pray for you everyday" he meant it!

Hank was an active member of the First Reformed Church of Lincoln Park and the Warren County Rod and Gun Club.

He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.

He leaves behind his wife of 30 years Linda (nee Mandeville), four children: Thomas Finelli of Iowa, Douglas Finelli, wife Michelle and grandson Henry of California, Christina Szabados, husband John and granddaughters Jaclyn and Ella of N.J. and Stacey Helmlinger, husband Ryan and grandsons Ryan and Colin of Louisiana. He also leaves behind six nieces and nephews, one great niece, two great nephews and three sister-in-laws. His four siblings predeceased him.

Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, March 5th from lOam to 12 noon at the First Reformed Church of Lincoln Park , 60 Chapel Hill Road. A Memorial Service will immediately follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Hank's name can be made to the First Reformed of Lincoln Park.
