My heart is saddened to learn of the passing of my favorite Profssor. Professor Paniccucci was my role model when I became a Professor after my corporate accounting career. He was kind, funny and approached his students with respect. I am grateful to have had the privilege of being one of his students. My college days were inspired by Professor Panicucci. My sincere sympathy to his family. Mary Ellen ( Bohan) Donner, FDU BS 81 and MBA 87.

This is such sad news. Rich was my first friend when I moved back to New Jersey in 2012. He was a wonderful lunch companion, a great guy with an amazing assortment of wacky stories. We shared a love of sports, a deep interest in higher education, and similar values in politics. He had a wonderful sense of humor. We laughed a lot together and shared our thoughts about many topics. I am so glad to have known him, and I will miss him greatly. He was a good and thoroughly decent man who touched and enriched the lives of many, many individuals, mine included. Rest in peace, my friend.

Back in 1994 I met Dean Panicucci as I started my MBA program at Fairleigh Dickinson. I'll forever be grateful to him for helping to open the door for me to pursue my graduate studies. I haven't seen him since then but have thought of him often and am thankful that we met. May he rest in peace.

Nobody at FDU was more dedicated to students than Rich. We served for many years on the Student Athletes' Academic Review Board. Rich always had great stories to tell. I shall miss him.
My sincere condolences to the Panicucci family.

Carol, Rich and Lisa,
My deepest and sincerest sympathies! Through the 20 years that I worked with Rich, he was not only my colleague and confidant, but he was my friend. I will miss the times we spent with each other whether at dinner to chopping yellow ice. My prayers are with you at this time in the loss of a husband and father.

My sincere condolences to Richard & his family.
I met Rich when I started working for FDU in the Dean’s office on the Madison campus. Rich was most welcoming and showed me the back way to Fairleigh to avoid a lot of highway driving. His interest in music and the accordion had a lot in common with my husband. I could see the wonderful skills and genuine interest he had with the students.
I can remember being able to secure a spot in one of his “homemade pasta parties” where my husband, Matt, played his synchronized accordion and us going home with a bottle of his homemade wine! Another time we were able to go by bus to a winery in NY with FDU in Teaneck to see a wonderful duo of Mario Taca, who played the accordion, and his wife arranged by Rich.
He was certainly a mentor to the student athletes and we attended a few of the Teaneck basketball games Richard arranged with a nice lunch. I’m sure he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

While growing up in Paterson I was fortunate to be within walking distance to my cousin Ritchie’s home, I idolized him and Ronnie and spent much time there with them. I’ll never forget the rides I took with Richie in his ’55 salmon/grey chevy and later on in his GTO convertible. My visits to Fairleigh with him were both educational and fun. I’ll never forget his Pat Cooper albums that he would narrate and make me laugh uncontrollably. You were my favorite cousin and I’ll never forget you.

Richard was a wonderful person and colleague at FDU. When I first arrived at the university I used to see him on campus and he would ask how I was doing. I would attend many of the athletic events because several of my nursing students played sports. He was always an advocate for students and their success. As others have said Rich was a model for others at the university and I am so blessed to have known and worked with him the 18 years I spent at FDU. Rest In Peace and know many have been touched by your giving and guidance. My prayers and condolences to your family and loved ones. You will be missed by many. Ann Tritak-Elmiger

Richard Panicucci was the best! The best teacher, the best colleague, the best friend. At Fairleigh Dickinson University where we worked together for forty years, he was the king, the yardstick that everyone else measured themselves against, the goal that all of us aspired to become. His commitment to student success was unwavering. His friendship to colleagues was real and unabashed. His leadership was inspired. I was blessed to be part of his orbit for our years together in the Provost’s Office. When Richard opted to join Joe Kiernan and myself in the Provost’s Office, we had a complete team. We had the king. I treasure the friendship he and Carol shared with Evelyn and me during that time and the years thereafter. Thanks to Richard, those years were some of the best years of my professional career. Goodbye my friend; we shall miss you!
