Obituary of Judith Verna Hanzl

Judith Verna Hanzl (nee Moore), 75, of Montville, passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021. She was born in Passaic, NJ, grew up in Carlstadt and lived in Wallington before moving to Montville in 1973. She attended East Rutherford High School and graduated in 1964. She was very proud of being a Majorette Co-Captain while in school. Judy worked at Mutual of New York Insurance Company in New York City in the Underwriters Department. After starting a family she worked in the Montville School System cafeteria. She worked for 20 years in the banking industry, finishing her career at Bank of America in Montville. She was a past-president of the Montville Baseball League Ladies Auxiliary.  She loved attending her sons’ games and later in life her grandchildren’s games.  She enjoyed traveling with her lifelong friend Eileen,  most recently visiting Paris and London.  Judy was a crossword puzzle enthusiast and loved playing Canasta and Scrabble with her family and friends.

Judy is the daughter of the late Robert and Ruth (Erentsen) Moore. Beloved mother of Brian Hanzl (Tracie) of Towaco, NJ, Eric Hanzl of Parlin, NJ, and predeceased by Jeremy Hanzl. Sister of Robert Moore (Victoria) of Hamilton, NY, Dennis Moore of Washington, VT, and the late Susan Moore. Loving Grandmother of Kyle, Emily and Noah Hanzl. She also leaves behind her ex husband and friend Ken Hanzl as well as many nieces, nephews and grandnephews.

Funeral Liturgy on Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at St Pius X R.C. Church, 24 Changebridge Road, Montville, NJ at 10 AM. Visiting on Tuesday from 4PM-8PM at Keri Memorial Funeral Home, 125 Main Street, Lincoln Park, NJ 07035.
