The one person in the world that was a true life long friend and more than that, he was a part of our family. Growing up in the same town and living with us at different times in our lives made us all happier when he was around. I could write a book of the many memories and the love we had for each other, but suffice it to say, God now has one of the good guys!
Condolences to the family and know he will be so missed.

Very fond memories of the best days in Lincoln Park. Large group of the best and coolest guys you'd ever know. Jimmy serviced many transmissions for me and my Dad, Kurt of Lincoln Center Liquors. Very fortunate to have known him and all his pals. nice to see how much he contributed to that close knit community, Hell of a man.

Jimmy Wild was a GREAT GUY. He was also a great COP in the borough, and he never harassed the teenagers. He knew every kid in town -and he knew the troubles or "heading for prison" types from the dumb teenagers who were just acting STOOPID. LPNJ was a tough little town in the 1960's and early 1970's, and the cos were as patient and kind as they could be, but the BORO magistrate would be as kind as he could be, and Jimmy would often approach the bench to get the matter resolved without it ending in the county jail. it was during the Vietnam war, so often as not=-the 18 or 19 defendant was given the option -for there were often a man in a green suit in the back of the "court room" and a man in NAVY BLUE CRACKER JACK uniform across the aisle. Some of the real; wise guys chose the NAVY over the guy in FOREST GREEN (USMC) or ARMY GREENS -thinking they could avoid the mud and terror of VIETNAM that way- BUT A HANDFUL of them wound up as US NAVY FLEET MARINE FORCE (FMF) MEDICAL Corpsmen, viewed as having the shortest life span in combat -next to a heavy machine gunner. But -word is. .Jimmy (and the Magistrate) always tried to give them the choice - the military or the MORRIS COUNTY JAIL for up to 364 days! HE WAS A GREAT MAN! the OTHER COPS IN TOWN were mostly the same way- we all knew them-and they all knew us....the good, the bad the ugly. GUYS like SGTS NOWACKI, HERLIHY , HACKETT, BRACKIN and LATER -RONNIE WILD. and DETECTIVE JOEL GROSS too. THE VERY EARLY 1960'S practiced "tough love" AND SINCE MOST OF THEM knew who would be straightened out IN THE MILITARY, they were KIND ENOUGH to give many young "punks" the option - "case dismissed" if you are accepted into the US MILITARY if charges of a misdemeanor WERE filed against you. They all thought that an HONORABLE DISCHARGE after 2 or 3 years a in the military gave a stupid young person a better future than a 6 month term in MORRIS COUNTY JAIL. And JIMMY WILD has joined all those other patient LPNJ cops in heaven now. AMEN .

Jim, it was a pleasure working with you at Wayne transmission for 27 years. We worked hard but you made the time go by so quickly with all your joking around and having me laugh all day. Love you and I am going to miss you so much. Just remember one thing, “ call Sharon”! I prayed for you every day during your sickness and I will continue to pray for you every day! Thanks for going to my Birthday party. I know It was difficult for you and it was much appreciated. Love, Brenda(Diee) Post
