So many great memories a life time of great memories. Camping in PA putting marshmallows on uncle George when he feel asleep in front of the fire and a bear coming up to the fire. Lol. Snowmobiling together when we were kids was always a great time.Christmas eve at my house when aunt Nancy and uncle George would join us was always a lot of fun. I loved talking with him when we were together just about all the little things in life. He will be missed by everyone

I am George’s first cousin. But because the Ridings family is so large, I actually called him “Uncle George” when I was a kid. I have many fond memories of family gatherings when I was growing up including some sleepovers at the Pier Lane house. Since George was only 10 yrs younger than my Dad (his Uncle Jack) he would tell me lots of stories about when they were all young. This meant so much to me as my Dad passed away when I was only 3 yrs old and sharing these memories helped me to feel more connected to him. It didn’t matter how long it was between visits as George always had a great sense of humor, a quick smile, a big hug and treated you like he had just sent you the day before. He was all about family! Sending my love and prayers to Nancy and all the family. Rest in peace George!

What a wonderful way to celebrate his life! I have many happy memories of my dad. One of the most meaningful things that he, my mom and my brother did was to help me, my husband and our children paint our pre-owned barn from red to its current blue! We sanded and painted every board in that barn. The addition of that little blue barn really propelled our small business forward. My dad gave me my love for animals and he taught me the value of hard work. I am forever grateful. I love you Dad!

Gary and I enjoyed the Lovell reunion at Uncle George’s house in Fairfield. It was great food, lots of laughter and warm welcome. I remember lots of animals and the guys were cooking on the grill.

Dad there is no way to sum up our lifetime of memories here. From camping trips and vacations to our animals you loved so much and how much you taught me about them and most things in nature. You worked hard for us, and even though you weren’t a big emotion “shower” we knew you loved your family. I’m so glad to have had you and mom so close these past few years, I’ve watched you two during tough health times show the sweetest affection and love and it’s that love that has taught us all so much about relationships and longevity. I’ll miss our wings and whiskey nights, sneaking you some extra icecream, sharing stories out by the fire and just watching you beam with pride as you look upon my kids and see them in their successes (and all the grand/great grandkids) you were the first man i ever loved. And nothing can ever take that love away. Keep watching over us. We’ll make sure to keep mom busy as you sure did lol. I love you. ❤️

I've been blessed for over 30 years to be a peripheral part of the family. He was a great man. Grumpy at times but with such a sense of humor! Always free with his hugs. He will be missed. Sending my love to the family!

I've only been with the family for a few years now but I always enjoyed when I had an opportunity to sit and have a cold beer with George and listen to him tell stories. Thats how one of my very first interactions with him went and is still my favorite memory of him.
When Samantha and I were still dating, I went to spend the day with her at her parents house. As it turned out, her grandparents were there also that day. Sam, her Mom, and Grandmother ended up going shopping for something and her Dad had to go run errands as well. In the end, it was just George and myself at the house. At this point I'd only met him briefly once or twice before and didn't know much about him, except that he loved beer and talking. So, not knowing what else to do, I grabbed us two beers and sat down at the table with him. Over the next few hours we polished off several more beers and he told me stories about his life. The places he's lived, his kids and grandkids, and tons of other stuff in between. I ended up having a great afternoon listening to and learning about a good man who led a very long and full life. It will always be my favorite memory of George and a day that I'm so happy I got to experience.
Rest in peace George. I'll definitely be having a few cold ones in your memory.

I was lucky enough to spend a lot of time with Pop Pop in the last few years, and even more so since Covid. Where to begin? Of course there were the family cruises, trips to Disney, little weekend get aways. When I first met him and for many of the early years we were together, I didn't think George and I had a lot in common, other than of course the love for his daughter. He rooted big for the Giants/me the Redskins....he enjoyed camping/me not so much, he had a love of big tractors and machines/ a lawn tractor is the biggest machine I ever drove, he'd prefer a cabin in the woods/ I'm going to the beach, etc. What I've come to realize though is that we have one huge thing in common, and that is the joy of being and doing the simple and little things with the people we love....Sitting by the fire making smores, wing and whiskey Wednesday, Taco Tuesday, hanging by the pool grilling, just a simple "what are you guys doing for dinner, come over and join us"....... "I love you" never came out of either of our mouths, and that's ok. They are just words. Our actions though proved the love and respect we had for each other. You'll be missed and remembered everyday Fred. I'll definitely be having a beer or two for you along the way. Say hi to Pop Pop Tony for me.

One of my favorite memories of Grandpa will always be when he cried after my wedding ceremony when giving me a hug. He told me that he loved me, how happy he was for us, and what a great day he was having. Another favorite will always be when we had Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Gale, and Uncle Joe over for dinner and it was the 6 of us talking and drinking. They didn't want to go home that night.
