Obituary of Robert McCabe

Robert McCabe, 80, of Forked River, NJ passed away on November 2, 2020. He was born in Manhattan, NY and lived in Wayne, NJ before moving to Forked River years ago. 

He drove a tractor trailer for Store-Wide Delivery for years, typically running daily loads across several states and later transitioning to a role as dispatcher. Bob was a strong supporter of the Lincoln Park American Legion and regularly socialized there along with being a member of the 'Over the Hill Gang' softball team through which he gained many cherished friendships.  He greatly enjoyed ocean fishing and frequently took day boats and charter trips from various points along the Jersey shore.  Bob was an avid NY Giants fan and was a season ticket holder for many years.  After moving to Forked River, Bob was a generous friend to many in need who had fallen on hard times and through his kindness, endeared himself to those he helped. He was the son of John and Rosalie McCabe. Bob was pre deceased by his wife Paula in 2016. He is the dear cousin of Timothy McCabe of South  Abington, PA. Family and friends would also like to acknowledge the years of help provided by his friend Tom Kussel.

There will be a graveside service at Mt. Rest Cemetery, 15 Kakeout Road, Butler, NJ at 10:30 AM on Wednesday November 11, 2020.
