Obituary of Lois Yanagi

Lois Yanagi, (née Fugarini), passed away on May 1st, 2020 at her place of residence, Meadow Lakes in East Windsor, New Jersey.

Born, March 6, 1930 in Englewood, New Jersey the only child to John and Sophie Fugarini, she grew up in Teaneck and lived most of her adult life in Towaco, NJ. Lois recently celebrated her 90th birthday with family and friends.

A lifelong musician she studied at Julliard before graduating from Skidmore College with a degree in music.

A woman of deep and profound faith, she was the musical director at St. Pius X Church in Montville, New Jersey and a committed member of the church community.

Daughter, Wife, Mother, Grandmother and friend with a brilliant mind and sharp intellect, she leaves a legacy of love, compassion and inspiration to all who knew her.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, John & Becky Yanagi, Anne Yanagi & Greayer Clover and Tom & Reiko Yanagi and grandchildren, Jack, Kevin, Emma, Tyler and Max and was preceded in death by her husband Haruo and daughter, Laura.

Funeral arrangements will be conducted by the Keri Funeral Home in Lincoln Park, New Jersey with interment at Gates of Heaven Cemetery in East Hanover, New Jersey where she will rest with husband Haruo and daughter Laura.

Because of the current circumstances services will be restricted to immediate family.
