Obituary of David DeGroot

David DeGroot, 52, of Lake Hopatcong New Jersey has passed away on March 4th, 2020 after a short battle with cancer. Dave is survived by his children, son Joseph DeGroot and his wife Danielle DeGroot, daughter Jessica DeGroot and her boyfriend Stephen Hines as well as his brother, William DeGroot and his life long partner Cheryl Rewick. Dave is also survived by many cousins, aunts and uncles. Dave was predeceased by his father William DeGroot.

Dave’s two favorite things in life were his children and Rangers Hockey. He would often be heard bragging about his children’s accomplishments or discussing the current or upcoming hockey season. Dave truly loved being surrounded by his family and close friends. Dave will be remembered by family and friends as a loving father, loyal brother, and hockey enthusiast.

Visitation will be Monday March 9, 2020 from 4-8 PM at Keri Memorial Funeral Home 125 Main Street, Lincoln Park .

In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made in Dave’s name to the American Cancer Society at donate3.cancer.org
