Obituary of Patricia Behnke

Patricia Behnke (nee Porter) 91 passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at her residence.  She was the daughter of Eugene and Loretta (nee Spaeth) Porter. She was born in Bellevue, PA on February 1, 1928. 

She was predeceased by her husband Joseph (1992) and her daughters Patricia Ann (1961) and Joanne (2018) and her sister Eugenia Gallo.  She is survived by her sons, Eugene Behnke and his wife Margaret of Highland Lakes, NJ, Stephen J. Behnke and Patricia of Stockton NJ, Vincent T. Behnke and his wife Janet of Highland Lakes, NJ and David Behnke and Donna of New Britian, CT.  She is also survived by her eight grandchildren and her seven great grandchildren.  

She graduated from Bellevue High School and started her nursing training at Providence Hospital in Beaver Falls, PA.  She graduated from St. Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing in Paterson, NJ in 1948.  She married Joseph F. Behnke on May 7, 1949 and built their home in Lincoln Park, NJ where she resided since 1951.  She worked at St. Joseph's Hospital and was part of the initial staff at Chilton Memorial Hospital in Pompton Plains, NJ working in Obstetrics and Critical Care and retired in 1992 as the Manager of Central Supply.

She was a parishioner of St. Joseph's R.C. Church in Lincoln Park where she was a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Lazarus Ministry.  She was an avid reader, bird watcher and cat lover.

Visiting hours will be on Friday, November 29, 2019 at Keri Memorial Funeral Home, 125 Main Street, Lincon Park, NJ from 10 - 11 AM.  Funeral Mass at St. Joseph's R.C. Church immediately following visiting at 11:30 AM.  Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery in Paterson, NJ.

In lieu of flowers,  donations to VHL Family Alliance , 1208 VFW Parkway, Suite 303 Boston, MA 02132-4344 would be appreciated.
