Ron Mabey posted a condolence

I know this is about a year and a half late, but I just learned of (uncle) Fred's passing. He was the younger brother of my father, Vincent (Sonny) Mabey. During WW II I frequently stayed with my grandparents, Milton and Christine Mabey. I was about four at that time and Fred was about 15 or 16. He was the youngest and the last of his nine siblings still living at home. I remember how I admired Fred. He seemed to me to be all grown up and "a man of the world". He was always kind to me and put up with my "little boy" pestering and endless questions. After the war my parents and I moved to Cleveland. On occasion over the passing years I would see Fred when my parents and I went to New Jersey for a visit. Like all the "Mabey boys" Fred was gregarious; always friendly and ready to laugh. The last time I saw Fred was about 1959 or 1960. As with Fred, I've lost track of his brothers and sisters. I assume they have passed on but I can't say for sure that is the case. My belated condolences and best wishes to Fred's family. - Ron Mabey - mabey@islc.net
