Robert J. Paris 82, of Lincoln Park, New Jersey passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, February 26, 2017. Born and raised in Lincoln Park to Mae and Frank Paris. Growing up his passions were raising horses, hunting and working on cars. He became a Lincoln Park Volunteer Fireman at the age of 20 and proudly served his hometown for 62 years. During that time he had the honor of holding every office including Chief twice at Lincoln Park Hose Company #1. Rob was an incredibly intelligent man with a gentle soul who adored his family. He worked for PSE&G in Jersey City for 40 years prior to his retirement. He is survived by his wife June Carey Paris, whom he adored, He was the proud and supportive father of Robert Paris, Jr. (Holly), Marie Ponnwitz (John), Beth Ackerman (Keith), Edward Paris (Cathy) and Margaret Cocozziello (Steve). Stepfather of Donna Maron, Glenn Zagorski (Marilyn), Craig Zagorski (Nakia), Karen Crochery, Ronnie Zagorski (Judy). Loving Grandfather of 19 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved first wife Jane Stettner Paris. Sister Gloria Frampton and brothers Frank and Douglas Paris. Visitation will be at The Keri Memorial Funeral Home 125 Main Street Lincoln Park on Friday 3-8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be officiated on Saturday at 9am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Pompton Plains. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The N.J. Fireman's Home 565 Lathrop Ave Boonton, N.J. 07005 or to The River's Edge Horse Rescue and Sanctuary, 104 Halsey Road, Newton, N.J. 07860.
