Ronald Austin Wild 71 yrs. old passed peacefully Sat., May 20th with his loving family at his side. Ronnie was incredibly loved by all who knew him, with his whimsical spirit , jovial antics and enormous heart. He stoutly battled recently diagnosed lung cancer.  Ron was a proud US Army Vietnam Vet , drafted in 1965 he served as a SP5 , 1966-67 in the US Military Assistance Command , Vietnam. Ron was with the Lincoln Pk. P.D. 28 yrs. serving as Chief of Detectives , Head of Community/Police Relations and then Dept. Captain. Peers civic organizations and govt. officials recognized Ron for his intelligent , personable, didicated and always extraordinary service , he retired in 1999.  Ron was an active member of the community coaching the Lincoln Pk. Raiders Football for 15 yrs. He served as Pres. of the Pacquenac Tennis Club , enjoyed golfing with friends, spending time with his 5 grandchildren, Sat. lunches at the Grasshopper and frequent trips with his wife and family to Aruba , Bethany Beach and Marco Island.   Ron grew   up in Lincoln Pk. on Seneca Ave, attending local schools, graduating from Boonton H.S. and than Wm. Paterson College in 1976 with a BS in Public Safety Admin. He was predeceased by his parents ,Helen & Leslie. Survived by his wife of 49 yrs , Joyce Silbernagel (also a Lincoln Pk. native who he met in kindergarten), brothers Jimmy & Larry and sister Leslie Napoli also survived by son Scott  , daughter Jaime Lang (Steve) and grandchildren Darren & Andrew Wild , Maxwell , Calder & Grayson Lang. Visitation is Tues., May 23rd from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the Keri Memorial Home , 125 Main St., Lincoln Pk., funeral Mass Wed., May 24th 10am in St., Joseph's Church , Comly Rd., Lincoln Pk. interment will follow at Gate of  Heaven Cem., E. Hanover , after which there will be a repast at the Lincoln Pk. American Legion Post. In lieu of flowers Memorial Donations to the Lincoln Pk. P.A.L. , P.O. Box 391 , Lincoln Park , NJ 07035  would be appreciated.
