~~Louis D'Ascenza age 94 died peacefully on Sept.23rd joining his wife of 58 yrs. Christine (Como) in eternal peace with their heavenly father.  Lou & Christine were among the founding parishioners of St. Pius X R.C. Church of Montville , he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and with his wife served the parish as Eucharistic Ministers.   He was a deeply religious and spiritual man , kind , gentle and considerate of others , always with a smile and a helping hand. It was Lou's caring disposition that was evident from the moment you first met him. He seemed consistently focused on others. He wanted to not only knoe and remember your name , he wanted to know your story and help you if he could.   He served with the U.S. Navy in the Philippines during WW-2.   Lou was a locksmith establishing DiaLock in 1946. Lou and his wife Christine resided in Towaco for more than 50 yrs. before moving to Lincoln Pk. and recently to Chelsea of Montville.  Over the years they enjoyed time spent together with the church community , their friends , extended family numerous nieces and nephews making up the Dascenza and Como families. He was predeceased by parents Lucy and Ralph & 7 brothers & sisters.  Visitation at the Keri Memorial Home , Lincoln Park is Tues. 9 to 11am followed by an 11:30am Mass at St. Pius X Church , Montville , private interment will take place Wed. 11am at Fairview Cemetery , Fairview , NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions to St. Jude's Children's Hosp. would be appreciated.
