Obituary of Rose Bollard

Rose H. Bollard a lifelong Wayne resident passed at home surrounded by family after a long illness June 19th. Born July 1920 to Portuguese immigrants Lavina and Manuel Souza , Rose was the 4th of 7 children. She attended school in Wayne and married Robert "Robbie" J. Bollard in Aug. 1939 , together they raised 4 children. Rose worked at Little Falls Laundry and then as beekeeper at Mt. View Taxi Co., a family owned business , she later worked , alongside her sister , as a cashier in the Ryerson Elementary School cafeteria. Family always first and foremost Rose brought love , laughter and music to the home she shared with Robert for over 70 yrs. (a medley of family and friends were always a welcome presence. Many wonderful memories were gathered during yearly family vacations, from visits to Portugal for their 25th anniversary to cross country treks and simple trips to the Jersey shore, a collection of photographs , postcards and diaries hold the tales. Besides "Robbie" survivors include children Shirley Bock, her daughter Rosanne and husband Robert Keep , Robert and Margo Bollard Jr. their daughter in law Lisa , grandson Michael Bollard and son Thomas , Arlene Sullivan and her children James , Laura and Jonathan , Dr. David and Linda Bollard and their children Matthew & Kimberly. Predeceased by grandson Robert J. Bollard 3rd. Rose brought a unique richness to life and will be missed more than words can convey. Visitation at Keri Memorial Home 125 Main St., Lincoln Pk. is Sunday from 2 to 5pm , service Mon 10am followed by interment at Laurel Grove , Totowa
