Obituary of Jean G Moffet

Jean G. Moffet, 79 of Bangor, ME formerly of Montville died peacefully on 9/15/13 at Ross Manor in Bangor.
A celebration of her life will take place at The Keri Memorial Funeral Home 125 Main Street Lincoln Park on Friday 6-8PM. A Graveside service will be held on Saturday at 11AM at Restland Memorial Park 77 DeForest Ave East Hanover. Everyone will meet at the cemetery on Saturday.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y. to David Lambert and Florence Irene (Gabriel) Scott on 2/19/34, Mrs. Moffet lived in Irvington and Montville before moving to Bangorin 2010. She graduated Irvington High School in 1952. She was active in the Order of the Rainbow for Girls and the Order of the Eastern Star of New Jersey. She started her career working for the Constable of Essex County. Jean was involved in her church and community where she worked as parish secretary at The Montville United Methodist Church, The Montville Board of Education and retired fron The Visiting Nurse Association of Morristown. She was a talented quilter and after moving to Bangor, she enjoyed her time with the Bangor Troop Greeters. Sh was a devoted mother and kind hearted person. Jean was sure to keep her clan in the "old country" near and dear to her heart. Every Christmas and New Year's Eve she would raise a glass to Scotland and Wales to keep them in our hearts.
In addition to her parents and brother David, she was predeceased by her husbands Frank F. Swackhamer, William A. Moffet and Harold Sturtevant, her son Gary Edward Swackhamer and her granddaughter Sarah Jean Swackhamer. She is survived by her daughters Linda Swackhamer and her husband Ken Croatman of Boonton Township, Robin S. Merchant and her husband Roger of Glenburn, Maine, Granddaughter Rene M. Whitney and her husband Eric of Hermon, ME and her dear friend Joyce Tichenor.
