Obituary of Elpinikki Basil

Elpinikki Basil (nee Vergonis) 76, of Montville died on December 26, 2015. A Memorial Mass will be officiated on Saturday 1PM at St. Pius X Church, Montville. Memorial Visiting will be at The Keri Memorial Funeral Home 125 Main Street Lincoln Park 10:30am-12:30pm. Born in New York, Mrs.. Basil lived in Bergenfield before moving to Montville 15 years ago. She was a Bank Manager with First Fidelity Bank in Tenafly for over 20 years. She then became the Director of Social Services for The Township of Montville working there for 9 years before retiring. She was a member of the St. Pius X Church Rosary Society and was The Vice President of The Montville Senior Citizens Club, where she planned many parties and trips for the members. She was highly regarded and loved by all who knew her. She made many close friends and will leave a void in The Senior Club. She is the mother of Kim Phelan (Thomas), Harry Basil (Laura), Cathy Wade (Robert), Peter and Danielle Basil. Sister of George Vergonis and the late Athena Sheehan. Grandmother of Stephanie, Tommy, Scott, Justine, Nicholas, Olivia and Logan. Great Grandmother of Abigail, Emily, Lucas and Madeline. She is also survived by her beloved dog Cleo. In lieu of flowers donations to the American Lung Association of The Mid-Atlantic 3001 Gettysburg Road Camp Hill, PA 17011 would be appreciated.
