Obituary of Bela Simon
~~Bela Simon age 90 of Towaco passed Oct. 10,2017 at home. Born in Woodbridge , NJ to Elizabeth and Imre Simon his family moved back to Szin , Hungary when was 9 months old. At the end of WW-2 Bela returned to New York and began a long successful career as a master carpenter as well as a machinist at Pacemaker Packaging Co. prior to retirement. Bela was a veteran who proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and is a member of VFW Post 1000. He married Helen (Romcsak) in 1957 and moved to Towaco in 1961 , residing there for the remainder of his life in a house he designed and built. Bela gladly helped many friends , neighbors and family members with home projects and enjoyed tending his garden and flowers. He was an active and involved member of the Hungarian Reformed Church in Passaic. He was known by all as a diehard Rangers fan. Bela was predeceased by his wife Helen. Survivors include daughter Anne , sister-in-law Olga Simon and many nieces and nephews. Visitation at the Keri Memorial Home ,125 Main St., Lincoln Pk., is Oct.13th 2-4 & 7-9pm , service Oct.14th 10am at the funeral home followed by interment at G. Washington Mem. Pk., Paramus. In lieu of flowers donations to The Wounded Warrior Project or the Hungarian Reformed Church of Passaic.
