Obituary of Judith M. Campanell

Please share a memory of Judith to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Following a long illness, Judith Mary Campanell passed away on July 23, 2023.  Judi was born in Charleston S.C. on December 22, 1943 to parents Barbara and Frank Campanell.  She was the eldest of three children.  Her family moved to the Fordham area of the Bronx where she was surrounded by her extended Italian family.  She lived there as a young adolescent and would often reminisce about the good friends she made and the wonderful people who lived in her community.  Years later she was overjoyed to revisit “the neighborhood” with her daughter where she was photographed sitting on the very stoop in front of her old house where she spent many happy hours with family and friends.  When she was 15, her family moved to Lincoln Park, N.J. where she attended and graduated from Boonton High School.  Years later, when her children were grown, she was hired as the Office Manager for Greenwood Tree Experts where she worked for over 30 years.  Judi was an avid nature lover who reveled in the assorted wildlife populating the woods surrounding her home.  Some of her favorite pastimes were feeding the birds who would search her out if she was late with breakfast or feeding the deer who would frequent her backyard with their fawns in tow.  Every Spring she would look for the family of fox and the woodchucks coming to drink from the pond on her property.  Judi was a devoted mother and her greatest source of happiness and pride was her three children and her six grandchildren who brought her nothing but joy.  She had recently become a great grandmother for the first time with the birth of her great grand daughter on June 30, 2023.  She is survived by her sister Frances Durino, her niece Toni Marie and her brother Frank Campanell, nephew Frank Jr. and niece Lauren, her daughter Christine Therese Lyman, daughter Barbara Jean and son in law Eric Morehouse, grandsons Maxwell Campbell and Cole Grayson, granddaughter Caroline Elizabeth, son Brian Michael and daughter in law Kerri Lyman, granddaughter Katherine Judith, grandsons Sean Michael and Owen Daniel and great granddaughter Harper Amelia Lyman-Ottoson.  Judi was greatly loved and will be missed every single day.  Rest in peace Mama, Mom, Mommy, Nonni.
