Obituary of Eugene J Mottese Sr

Eugene J. "Gene" Motttese, Sr. 87 of Lincoln Park died on 3/17/14. Visiting will be at The Keri Memorial Funeral Home 125 Main Street Lincoln Park on Friday 4-8PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be officiated on Saturday at 9:30AM at St. Joseph's Church, Lincoln Park. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Born in Hackensack, Mr. Mottese lived in Lincoln Park since 1962. He was a mail carrier in Lincoln Park for 25 years retiring in 1987. He also was a police officer in Lincoln Park Police Department for 8 years. He served in The United States Navy as a gunners mate on the USS Topeka in the South Pacific during World War II. He was a Commander of The American Legion Post 279, Lincoln Park and was the captain of the bowling team with The American Legion. He was an excellent golfer and avid Yankee Fan. He is the husband of the late Mary Matano Mottese. Father of Jerry (Joann), John (Lorelei), and Eugene Mottese Jr. and the late Joleen Morere. Father in law of George Morere. Grandfather of John, Christopher and Victoria. Great Grandfather of Jessica and David. In lieu of flowers donations to St. Joseph's Church 216 Comly Road Lincoln Park, N.J. would be appreciated.
