Concetta Segreto (nee Romei), 94, of Haledon at rest on Saturday, May 9, 2026.  Mrs. Segreto was born and raised in Paterson. She moved to Haledon in 1966.  She was affectionately loved, adored and known by all as “Connie”.

Connie was a devoted homemaker.  She aspired to become a nurse, but her parents could not afford higher education for both her and her brother.  After graduating from Central High School, Connie worked for 10 years at the Retail Credit Company in Paterson before leaving in 1959 to devote the rest of her life as a beloved wife, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

Connie enjoyed entertaining family and friends.  In addition to the daily meals and Sunday afternoon dinners she prepared for her family, Connie would prepare delicious and bountiful meals and desserts for countless parties, birthdays, graduations, and the annual 4th of July birthday parties for husband John that typically consisted of 70+ relatives and friends on the patio of their home.  Connie also enjoyed family vacations in Atlantic City (pre-casinos) where she enjoyed going into and out of the shops on the boardwalk, and later vacationing in Wildwood Crest where she would meet up with her cousins to reminisce about the past.  Connie loved all kinds of nicknacks and decorative plates that she used to turn her house into a warm and loving home for her family.  She was loved by everyone who knew her.  Her kind, gentle and loving ways will be sadly missed.

Connie was a parishioner of Saint Paul’s Roman Catholic Church, Prospect Park; a member of the PAL Woman’s Auxiliary; a member of the Parents/Teachers’ Association; she served as County Committee Woman for elections; she volunteered as class mother; and she was a member of the Haledon Couples’ Club and the AARP Haledon Chapter.

Connie was predeceased by her parents, Alfonso and Eva Romei; her loving brother, Honorable Adolph A. Romei and her devoted husband, John F. Segreto.

She is survived by her four children: Frank J. Segreto and his wife, Linda; Lori Ann Loeschorn and her husband, Charlie; John J. Segreto and his wife, Grace Ann; and Paul A. Segreto; nine grandchildren:  Frank, Christopher, Diane, Nicole, Daniel, Joshua, Anthony, Amanda and Dawn; and five great grandchildren: Nora, Levi, Violet, Lucas and Claire. 

Funeral from Keri- Lozito Funeral Home, 125 Main Street, Lincoln Park, NJ on Friday, May 15, 2026 at 9:15 am  Funeral Mass at St  Paul's R.C. Church, 286 Haledon Avenue, Prospect Park, NJ at 10:30 AM. Interment, Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes, NJ. Visiting on Thursday, May 14, 2026 from 4-8 PM
