Rose Trapanese (nee DeLeo), age 99 passed away peacefully on May 7, 2026. She was the daughter of the late Savino DeLeo and Margaret Severance.

She was born in Paterson NJ, residing many years in Woodland Park, NJ before moving to Toms River, NJ.

Rose was the beloved wife of Alphonse Trapanese (2013) for 67 years. She is also pre deceased by her son Anthony Trapanese, brother Dominick DeLeo, grandson Paul Gallaugher, and son in law David Gallaugher. She is survived by her son Al Trapanese and his wife Tammy, daughter Lorraine Calabrese and husband Peter, daughter in law Sandy Trapanese and sweetest grandmother to her grandchildren Lisa Riccio (Nick),  Dave Gallaugher ( Cindy),  Sheryl Pellegrino (Frank), Sharon Tappen, and Anthony Trapanese ( Debbie). Great grandchildren Kaitlyn and David Gallaugher, Nicole Parker ( Andrew), Allison Crowle (Tim), Gianna, Frankie, and Anthony Pellegrino, Gabriella and Chuckie Tappen, and Gianna, Anthony, Dominic and Angelina Trapanese. Also great great grandmother to AJ and Luke Parker and Austin and Dylan Crowle. She is also by survived by  many nieces, nephews and cousins and was especially close to her  cousin Inez De Stefano who she always referred to as her little sister.

Before retiring Rose was an excellent seamstress working as a blind stitch  operator at  Crazy Horse for many years. She was also the family seamstress never refusing the constant requests to have clothes altered.  She also loved to crochet blankets  and was happy to make ponchos  for each new granddaughter.

Rose enjoyed playing Bingo and was still playing at 99. She never missed a night of watching  Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune usually solving puzzles before anyone else. She also  enjoyed doing crosswords, word search and Sudoku puzzles well into her nineties.

 Above  all Rose loved and took great pride in her family and nothing made her happier then spending time with them. She will be deeply missed, loved, and forever   remembered by her family and everyone who knew her.

She will always hold a special place in our hearts

Visiting will be held on Tuesday May 12, 2026 from 4 PM-8 PM at Keri-Lozito Funeral Home, 125 Main Street, Lincoln Park, NJ. Funeral Liturgy on Wednesday May 13, 2026, 10 AM at St. James of the Marches, 32 St. James Place, Totowa, NJ. Interment will follow at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown NJ
