Agnes W. Scheu Obituary

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Agnes W. Scheu, originally from Congers, NY, but spent most of her adult life in White Plains, NY. She graduated from Congers High School and later from Pace University with her bachelor’s degree in finance, which she proudly paid for herself.  She left this world on February 24, 2026.

She used her degree to open her own Florist shop, following in her family’s footsteps. Agnes found joy in baking, especially her Mom’s recipes from Germany, gardening and painting. She was also a benefactor of the White Plains Beautification Foundation, Inc.

Agnes was active with her church in White Plains, serving as bookkeeper for many years and also with the White Plains Active Older Adult programs.  She served on the Senior Citizen Advisory Committee in White Plains and was honored in 2017 by being selected into the Westchester Senior Citizens Hall of Fame.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Betty Scheu, three nieces: Karen Bush, Diane Lentini and Linda Scheu as well as her seven grand nieces and nephews: Grace Bush, Daniel Bush, Joseph Lentini IV, Emma Lentini, Jack Lentini, Derek Greer and Peter Greer.

She is preceded in death by her parents Martin and Marie Scheu and brothers Hermann and Robert Scheu.

There will be a private graveside service at Gethsemane Cemetery in Rockland Lake, NY in the spring.
