Margaret “Peggy” Folenta, 83, of Lincoln Park, NJ, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. She was born in Elizabeth, NJ, lived in Fairfield, NJ, and moved to Lincoln Park in 1995.
Before retiring, Peggy was a dedicated Registered Nurse at St. Vincent’s Nursing Home in Montclair, NJ. Her life was marked by deep faith and service to others. She was a devoted parishioner of St. Joseph’s R.C. Church in Lincoln Park, where she served as coordinator for the Eucharistic Ministers and was instrumental in bringing Holy Communion to the residents of the Lincoln Park Care Center. Previously, she was a parishioner of St. Thomas More R.C. Church in Fairfield, where she taught C.C.D. and was a member of the Ladies Altar and Rosary Society.
Peggy was the beloved wife of the late Dezi Folenta. She was a devoted mother of Michael Folenta and his wife Sheila, Donna Preziosi and her husband Mario, Sandra Catto and her husband Iskender, and Steven Folenta and his wife Laura. She was the dear sister of the late Dale Pegler and a loving grandmother to twelve grandchildren and great-grandmother to seven great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, 312 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover, NJ, on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM (please meet at the church). Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 29, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Keri-Lozito Funeral Home, 125 Main Street, Lincoln Park, NJ.
