Theresa (Terry) K. Decker, age 93, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, after a joy-filled life with family, friends, and community.

Terry was born in 1932 and raised in Paterson, NJ, a daughter of Thekla Korn, a Hungarian immigrant. Terry was the youngest of eight siblings, four brothers and three sisters.

In her early 20s, Terry joined Kearfott Corporation. It was there she met Curtis Decker, the love of her life, who she married in 1955. They raised six children in Montville, NJ, in the home they lived in for over 60 years. Terry was a devoted Mom and homemaker, a wonderful cook and baker, known for her delicious pies. The family's Montville home was the site of family holiday parties and picnics, gatherings of Terry’s siblings and many cousins and grandchildren.

Beginning in 1988 and for 30+ years, Terry was employed by Chelsea at Montville, where she took great pride in providing residential care to seniors. She touched the hearts of residents every day. During those years and until recently, Terry was active in the Coffee Nerves bowling league, the Montville Senior House, and both the St Pius X Church Afternoon Prayer and the Rosary Society. In retirement, Curt and Terry enjoyed traveling and spending time with their family.

Terry is survived by her six children: Linda, Kathy, Curt, Susan, Laurie and Kimberly, 12 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.

Our heartfelt thanks go to the staff at Victoria Mews Assisted Living, Boonton, NJ. Curt and Terry lived active lives there for two years prior to his death in June 2024. Terry continued to live there. Both were loved by Victoria Mews staff and residents.

A funeral mass will be held on January 10 at 12:00 PM at Saint Pius X Church in Montville. Following the mass, Terry’s family will gather privately to celebrate her life.
