Thomas Riley Obituary

Thomas Lowell Riley, 73, of Lincoln Park, NJ, passed away on January 28th, 2025, in his sleep. Tom was born in Glen Ridge, to Mort and Romelle Riley on February 14th, 1951. He grew up and lived most of his life in Verona.

Tom was a skilled carpenter who created custom decks and more all designed by hand. One of his favorite pieces was a beautifully crafted six-sided poker table. It’s astonishing to know he built an entire house in Vermont without a computer generated blueprint! He was equally skilled on the poker table. He enjoyed playing cards, backgammon, billiards, and betting on the horses.

Tom is survived by daughters Kelly (husband Ryan) and Sandra, brother Mort (wife Charlene), grandchildren Joseph, Damian, Christopher, Dominic, Teresa, Jeremiah, and Autumn, niece Renee, nephew Jonathan, and great niece Eva. He is preceded in death by parents Mort and Romelle, daughter Tammy, and brother Charles.

A memorial service will be held on March 15th, 2025, at 11am in the chapel of Union Congregational Church 176 Cooper Ave. Montclair, NJ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Grace Presbyterian Church Montclair Rebuilding Fund.
